Introduction

GK YGAT 09 (Gawad Kalinga: Youth Great Adventure Tour 2009) is an annual trip that takes the youth of Australia thousands of kilometres to the slums of the Philippines where they will work hand in hand with the poorest of the poor. They will help them build houses, and learn about their plight against poverty in their hopes of overcoming their current situations.

In breaking the boundaries between people and cultures, and crossing the borders when in times of struggle that the adventurers in all of us can learn and grow from this experience - an experience to be remembered...

Dates and Itinerary

GK YGAT 09 will run from January 18th to February 1st, 2009.

Registration Fees

Registration fee covers all food, transport and accommodation for the 2 weeks.
A down payment of $200 will be required by 1 September 2008. This down payment is non-refundable.

Build sites will be available in:
Luzon = $750AUD
Visayas = $825AUD
Mindanao = $875AUD
These fees are subject to change due to currency exchange rates.

**Registration costs do not include the airfare. Airfare from Australia to Philippines is additional to the registration fee.

Flight arrangements can be made on an individual basis or through the GK YGAT 09 group.
