GK Youth from Sydney visits GK Cambodia
Joekarl Diaz and Kris Alegrid from GK Youth Sydney went on their own great adventure as they travelled around GK Cambodia. At present, Cambodia has 2 GK villages. Joekarl and Kris were able to build relationships with the beneficiaries, live the culture and also met the dedicated caretakers.

St Aloysius College '08 GK Immersion
As part of a biannual immersion project to the Philippines, St Aloysius College brought a group of 18 students to the Philippines to experience Gawad Kalinga.
They spent 4 days at the GK Australian village in Bagong Silang, Caloocan City, earlier this January.

Freeman College GAT '08
Four teachers from Freeman College, Sydney embarked on their GK journey last January to experience life with the poor and build lasting relationships.
The teachers not only built houses but also conducted science experiments and art activities with the SIBOL kids.

GK YGAT Papua New Guinea 2007
Once again GK Youth from Australia visited the GK village in Port Moresby, PNG for two weeks this year to show their support to our smaller sister country.
20 houses are currently standing in the GK PNG village with close future plans for a medical centre, a multi-purpose hall and a temporary school.

City to Surf 2007
Over 60,000 people converged last Sunday, August 12, to participate in this years City 2 Surf, all ready and willing to run the 14km marathon from the centre of Sydney city to Bondi Beach.
GK ANCOP was named as the top fund raising group of the 160 charities registered in the 2007 City 2 Surf. Congratulations to everyone!

Miss GK Australia 2007
Bianca Lucas (Miss GK NSW) was crowned Miss GK Australia 2007 in a well-attended celebration held in Melbourne, Victoria.
MGKA has helped build three Miss GK Villages since its inception in 2004 – and hopes to pave the way for more future GK Villages through the tireless efforts of the MGKA participants.

Miss GK NSW Coronation Night 2007
The Miss GK NSW Coronation Night was held last 14 July 2007 at Corregidor Restaurant, Rooty Hill. Bianca Lucas was crowned as this year's Miss GK NSW.

Spins & Turns
In spite of the heavy rain that occurred last Saturday, 16th June 2007, eager dancers still showed their full support for Gawad Kalinga by attending the Spins & Turns event.
It was an overwhelming experience for the organisers as the night was able to raise enough funds for 2 GK houses!

Bobby Barreiro, Executive Producer of the trilogy movie was the special guest speaker.

GK YGAT Papua New Guinea 2006
Last 15 September - 2 October 2006 the very first GK YGAT in Papua New Guinea took place!
Joekarl Diaz, Joy Lopez, Stephen Tutoka and Josanne Musa stayed with the Borehoho clan families to help build houses, experience the culture and build long-lasting relationships.
