To Bring Green Back In The Pastures
By JOY LOPEZ Date Posted: April 5, 2007
It’s almost cliché to say ‘looking
for greener pastures’.
One
would think, that once spared
from the hardships and
successfully attain a degree
would not think twice about
looking back.
Whilst many
young professionals seek to
look for greener pastures, it’s
quite the contrary for these 3
young heroes from Sydney.
Rachael Dimitui (21), Therese
Santos (22) and Jocytte Musa
(21), have selected GK as the
Community Development
Program to work with in
completing their tertiary studies.
All three have made proposals
to their university about Gawad Kalinga in
order for it to be recognised as
a community development
program.
In addition, they have
chosen to spend 3-6 months or
more to volunteer for GK. All,
having heard and seen GK
before, continue to witness the
integrity and the changes it’s
creating in people’s lives.
