Miss GK 2007 - Could It Be You?
Date Posted: March 12, 2007
This January,Karla Magayanes (the
reigning Miss GK 2006), the
winning state candidates; Jessica
Jenkins, Beverly Pugliese, Laura
Barber, NSW runner up Eileen
Racca and Victoria runner up Juvy Elano all attended GKY GAT ’07.
As
a result, they have not only been
very active in raising funds and
awareness for GK, but have now
also physically experienced the
work of GK and witnessed how it is
not only changing the Philippines,
but the world.
During the Miss GK campaign of
2006, in just over 3 months, all the
candidates from the four
participating states raised over
$90, 000 nationally. This
monumental achievement can be
accredited to the hard work and
dedication of each of the
candidates of 2006.
They worked
tirelessly selling raffle tickets and
holding various events throughout
the campaign, while carrying on
with their normal daily activities,
whether they were working, doing
their HSC or attending university.
On March 24, during the GK
Harvest, not only will the audience
be able to hear and learn about the
experiences that participants of
various GATs and the candidates
went through, but the launch of
Miss GK NSW 2007 will also take
place.
In previous years the
coronation for the national Miss GK
has been held in NSW, but this
year the national coronation will be
held in Victoria, and will take place
July 21.
The search has begun for NSW
candidates, and we are asking for
your help! If you know anyone or if
you are, above the age of 18,
share the vision of GK in rebuilding
nations and restoring the dignity to
the poor, and fits within the
guidelines of GK criteria, please
contact Christine Stanley on 0419 626 747 – former
NSW candidate or the CFC office on (02) 9831 4044.
