Say "G'day!" to our new GK-ANCOP Australia Representative in the Philippines

It has been two months now since I’ve started working for Gawad Kalinga ANCOP Australia as their Representative here in the Philippines. My role is simple – to represent GK ANCOP Australia in Gawad Kalinga here in the Philippines and to look after all the administrative work which relates to all Australian transactions made. Sounds simple to you??
But wait! There’s more… I also look after all the Australian visitors of Gawad Kalinga and ensure that their visit is well organized before they arrive. It’s my ultimate goal for each Australian visitor to enjoy their visit and leave with a lasting impression of GK.
So what do I like most about my job? The fact that I do not consider it as a job is what I like most about it. This is something I’ve always wanted to do. It’s a self-fulfillment for me to be able to work for Gawad Kalinga here in the Philippines.
Having been involved with GK in Australia for three years now, to be able to serve from the Philippines is a dream come true! I feel so proud each morning that I put on my GK Shirt before going to the GK National Office. It really is an honour to be part of a movement that is transforming the lives of so many, not just here in the Philippines but all over the world. It is also a privilege to be working with the heroes behind the works of Gawad Kalinga.
Last month, I was fortunate enough to visit some of the Australian GK Villages in Region II, namely the provinces of Quirino, Isabela and Nueva Vizcaya. I have also visited other Australian Villages in Metro Manila such as Bagong Silang, Licad, Brookside and Central FILCCA.
During the GK Youth Great Adventure Tour earlier this year, I was also able to visit two Australian Villages from the Bicol Region, namely RBJP (Panganiban) and Libmanan. It has been my desire to visit all the Australian GK Villages whilst here in the Philippines.
And if ever you get the chance to come and visit the Philippines, do let me know. Say "G'day!" and I’ll show you around some of our GK Villages here in Manila! Email me on rcuaresma_gk@yahoo.com should you have any queries.
