Aquinas Day

Although it was a very wet and cloudy day last Friday 5th September, the whole school at Aquinas College, Menai continued with their various activities to raise money for the St. Aquinas Day celebration dedicated to our very own “GK”.

We saw everything from Cake/food - stalls, sausage sizzles, sports and trivia games and raffles going on throughout the day - awesome achievement and effort from the whole school!

Paolo Mision, Carmela Salom, James Palomo and myself arrived around 11:30am and we were greeted by the Vice Principal, also the librarian who walked us around to see the activities and finally Catherine Nolan who was the Social Justice co-ordinator.

We presented GK and also related most of it to their situation at the moment, especially how most of us have gone through the HSC and universities and how we were able to use our time to volunteer for GK.

At the end of the presentation we were presented very cool pens and the school badge. In return we presented a GK Certificate of Appreciation to the school.

They have successfully raised over $3000 for GK during their St. Aquinas 'feast day' in which they dedicated all their hard work of fundraising towards GK and also spreading awareness that there is work being done for the less fortunate in our world.

This is a great achievement from their school and one in which we especially in making "Partners" can aspire to, building rapport and networks with those we meet each day.

If you want to find out more ways to help, presentations, GK updates including stats...please don't hesitate to contact the Partner Management Group (PMG) team.
